thrift shopping tips!

hey, what’s up, hello! i always get asked tips on how i find such amazing items at thrift stores and today i am revealing a few main tips on how to get the best experience at thrift stores!

1) CHECK WHICH DAYS ARE SALE DAYS!

Most thrift stores have days when they have specific price tags that have sales. For example, one day a week, there might be a sale where all items with a blue tag are 50% off, but the next day, those same items are full price. Other stores have a day once a week where students get a 20% off discount where all you have to do is show your school ID and you are eligible to receive discounts! Also, always sign up to be a member to receive extra discounts!

2) MAKE SURE TO GRAB A CART!

Grabbing a cart ensures an easier shopping experience! When you have a cart, you are able to throw loads and loads of goodies in and sort through them before checking out.

3) CREATE A LIST OF YOUR WANTS!

If you create a list of items that you’re interested in, you are able to go directly to those sections when arriving to the thrift shops. You can create this list on your phone, on a piece of paper, just any physical place where you can take it with you while shopping around!

4) STAY OPTIMISTIC!

It is unlikely to find the most amazing items on the first thrift trip you are going on. I have been thrifting for over two years and it was discouraging when first starting because i thought i would never find anything cute. When having a negative mindset, the universe will say “ hey! they’ve got a bad attitude... why should we grant them with amazing gems?? “. When you change your mindset to a more positive outlook, you will soon realize that good things take time. Just continue to shop & know that you will be sent all of the gems soon enough.

5) DON’T FORGET TO GIVE BACK!

Sustainable shopping is a very beneficial concept, but don’t forget to give back as often as you are able to. The whole point of thrifting is to go out, rock a gem, and then when you’ve given it a good run, send it back into the thrifting community in order for another baddie to receive and rock the item!
